Buddhist Theatre GarlandAn interactive piece commissioned by Daphne Astor for Festival Theatre at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre. The piece, created by visitors at the centre, is part of a series of installations I have been working on that aim to blur the role of artist and viewer while drawing inspiration from craft practices. In this piece,
Garlands #12, participants will explore the Buddhist concept of interconnectedness and celebrate Terence Gray, patron of the theatre responsible for its refurbishment in 1926, who wanted audiences to “come to the theatre as to a party, and act there in their imaginations according to the pattern of the play.” the exhibition will be on from 14 April to 17 May 2007.
